Obligatory "What the heck am I doing" Post

Hey everyone!

Well, obviously, this is my newest and first post.  I am still a little baffled and overwhelmed with this whole blogging concept.  I told my parents this and they chucked and my dad, with food in his mouth, mumbled something about me being from the age of technology. Yes, that is true, I think I am supposed to be in with the new technology and sources of communication, yet, blogging makes me uneasy.  I have never been much of a journal/ diary kind of girl.  I think too fast and get excited over the smallest things, it was always hard for me to designate a few minutes at the end of my day for any type of introspective reflection.

My goal: make a photography blog that people actually like to visit. How realistic is this? Probably not very but what the heck, I don't mind writing to myself either I suppose.  As you, reader that might not even exist, might have guessed, I have a slight attitude/sass problem, so I am warning you about the inevitable fits of sarcasm that will somehow land itself onto this blog.

I'm not sure if it is blogger 'protocol' to introduce yourself or give any bits of personal information.  I guess I really can do whatever I'd like to.  I can slowly introduce myself as I continue to blog (IF I continue to blog).  I hate writing, another reason for my lack of journaling and what not, so I have turned to photography.  How are these really the same thing you might ask? They aren't.  Journaling, you learn something new about yourself or keep a log of exciting cool things you do as life progresses.  Photography, I think, is not nearly as introspective.  At least, this is the case with my photography.  I can't guarantee that you will see one picture of a human being while viewing my blog.  I have an uncanny obsession for the macro+ mode on my camera, so viewers, get ready to see a heck of a lot of up-close flower pictures.  See how casual I am with my wording.  Flower pictures.  I have NO idea what I am doing, I just know I like detail, discrete things in nature, bugs, the sun, and random bokeh that pleasantly pops into my photographs once every so often, and ice-cream (a lot).  I am as unprofessional as one can be. My comment on my own previously stated statement is 'so what?'

Well, viewers (or is it readers?),
Thank you for hearing me out. I look forward to this challenging journey.  The challenge for me lies in keeping the motivation to refresh and keep this blog running, not the actual uploading or taking of the pictures.

Thanks!
D
